Furniture Feature: Furniture TOKABO Ltd
Tokabo is a Ukrainian manufacturer of solid wood furniture, specialising in oak furniture for living, dining and bedroom spaces. The company has been operating since 2001, building on the legacy of the Chernivtsi Furniture Factory, which dates back to 1950.
Over the years, Tokabo has successfully combined traditional woodworking expertise with modern production technologies. With a strong focus on quality, durability and design versatility, the brand now works with retail and wholesale partners across Europe, creating collections suited for both online and in-store environments.
How did your company begin?
Tokabo was established as a continuation of a long-standing furniture manufacturing tradition in western Ukraine. Drawing on decades of experience from the Chernivtsi Furniture Factory, the company was created with a clear focus on solid hardwood furniture, using oak and beech as its core materials.
From the beginning, the aim was to combine craftsmanship with scalable production — allowing Tokabo to meet the needs of European retailers and wholesalers while maintaining consistent quality and material integrity.
Knowing what you know now, what advice would you give to your younger self?Tokabo’s advice is to prioritise long-term partnerships over short-term results. Investing in quality systems, clear communication with buyers, and scalable products is key. Consistency, reliability and trust, they believe, are just as important as great design.
Could you share details about any new collections or ranges you’ll be showcasing at the January Furniture Show?At JFS 2026, Tokabo will present a selection of solid oak furniture for bedrooms, dining spaces and living rooms. This includes storage beds, dining tables and a variety of living room storage solutions.
All collections are designed with retail and wholesale distribution in mind, featuring FSC®-certified oak, natural oil finishes and clean, adaptable designs that suit a wide range of interior styles and sales channels.
Do you have any personal favourites in your latest collection?Tokabo’s storage beds and living room storage pieces are personal favourites. These designs reflect what many retail partners are looking for today: durable, solid wood furniture that delivers clear value to customers while making efficient use of space.
What are you most looking forward to at the show?Meeting existing partners in person and starting new conversations with retailers and wholesalers who value long-term cooperation. The January Furniture Show is an important platform for Tokabo to better understand market needs and ensure future collections continue to align with buyer expectations.
Have there been any highlights for you over the past year that you’d like to mention?Over the past year, Tokabo has expanded its cooperation with European retail partners and refined its collections to better support both online and offline sales. Continued investment in material sourcing, quality control and product presentation has been a major focus.
Where do you see the furniture industry heading?Tokabo sees a continued shift toward natural materials, functional design, and long-lasting products. Solid wood, calm colour palettes and simple forms are becoming increasingly important as consumers look for furniture that feels timeless rather than trend-driven.
Highly decorative, short-lived designs and low-durability materials are less likely to return — particularly as sustainability and consumer awareness continue to grow.
What’s next for your company?Tokabo plans to further strengthen its presence in the UK and EU markets, expand cooperation with retail partners and continue developing solid oak collections that balance design, functionality and scalability. Sustainability, consistency and long-term partnerships will remain at the heart of the company’s strategy.
