Tell us about yourself and your brand. How long have you been in business?

Sofa Connections has been supplying the trade with sofas of the highest quality for over 30 years

With brothers Brian and Paul Oakley being made redundant from their work places they decided to fill a gap in the market with business partner Carl Ward. The Oakley's managed the production side of the business whilst the Ward's managed the sales.

Knowing what you know now, what advice would you give to your younger self?

It will be hard work but the good times will outweigh the bad

Could you share details about any new collections or ranges you’ll be showcasing at the Manchester Furniture Show?

We will be showcasing a fantastic new range, the Kingston. Featuring a classic contemporary splay arm with luxurious foam fibre wrap seats it will be sure to be the star of our show.

Do you have any personal favourites in your latest collection?

We love the Belfry, Sherwood and Blakedown, however the Kingston will be sure to make it's mark in our favourites

What are you most looking forward to at the show?

The networking opportunities. Catching up with our lovely customers and meeting new people

Have there been any highlights for you over the past year that you’d like to mention?

January at JFS 25 was a great month for us, we still can't believe we were invited into Hall 1.

Where do you see the furniture industry heading? Are there any styles or trends making a comeback, or any designs you think are least likely to return?

I think now is the time UK manufacturers need to stand together to bring back what we do best, good quality British furniture. I'd love to see more retailers no matter their size truly invest in UK manufacturing so our market isn't left to dwindle.
