The Worshipful Company of Upholders, one of the revered Livery Companies of the City of London, will be prominently featured at the January Furniture Show (JFS) 2025. Established in 1360 and incorporated by Royal Charter in 1626, the Upholders have a rich history in the upholstery and soft furnishings trade.

At JFS, the Upholders will host The Upholders Awards, celebrating outstanding work from upholstery graduates across the country. The event recognises excellence in both traditional and modern upholstery techniques and highlights the Company’s ongoing role in supporting the industry.

In Hall 4, the Upholders will present an exhibition featuring six students’ work. Each student will display two chairs: one crafted using traditional filling materials and techniques, and another using contemporary materials and methods. This unique showcase will highlight the evolution of the craft, from time-honoured skills to modern innovations.
