Sofas to live in, sleep on, lounge on, and ponder are an absolute passion for himolla, a company based in BAVARIA near Munich. We create favourite places, must haves for physical and mental relaxation. Wonderful sofas and beloved armchairs simply make life better! We provide genuine solutions and numerous features for enhanced home living. What truly sets us apart is our comprehensive approach to furniture design. Every piece undergoes rigorous testing and refinement in our state-of-the-art R&D facilities. We've invested heavily in cutting-edge machinery and sustainable practices, ensuring that when you choose himolla, you're investing in furniture that's built to last. Today, himolla represents contemporary and chic design, which is carried by the distinctive and instantly recognisable design language of Chief Designer Tamara Härty, as well as the highest levels of comfort, technical refinements from functional armrests to high-tech motorised fittings, an immense variety of planning options, and excellent upholstery materials. himolla is respectful of its past but is not harnessed by it. This is a new collection for a New Age specially tailored for Great Britain. Its unique personality is accentuated by its distinctive design, well thought out and proven features and maximum individuality for customers, which make it both highly desirable and seriously comfortable. himolla's story began over 75 years ago in the heart of Bavaria. From humble beginnings in 1948, we've grown into one of Europe's leading upholstered furniture manufacturers, now employing 2,700 skilled craftspeople. While we've expanded significantly, we've maintained our family-owned ethos, combining traditional craftsmanship with modern innovation to create furniture that stands the test of time.

Could you share details about any new collections or ranges you’ll be showcasing at the January Furniture Show?
Design is a key differentiator in the marketplace, while being a conduit to communicate what a brand stands for. That will always be the case, irrespective of what’s going on in terms of new technologies: it’s what the product represents, and its relevance in a modern context. As manufacturers and designers, it’s our job to make that all-important emotional connection with our customers. We're thrilled to unveil our showstopper - the Wing Back Chair, featuring a striking white Crumble fabric and sophisticated light beige metal frame. It's a perfect example of our design philosophy: bold yet refined, modern yet timeless. We've developed an exclusive range specifically for the UK and Ireland markets, including innovative upholstery options and a fresh colour palette that reflects British tastes. Each piece demonstrates our commitment to creating furniture that makes an emotional connection with our customers while maintaining our signature German engineering excellence.
Do you have any personal favourites in your latest collection?

Have there been any highlights for you over the past year that you’d like to mention?
2024 has been transformative. Our innovative stand at JFS Birmingham showcased our dedication to the British market, featuring premium leathers and cutting-edge designs. The launch of our LUPO model and the introduction of the chic Cumuly Comfort LOONA series particularly stand out. What's been most rewarding is seeing customers' genuine surprise at the exceptional comfort level of our pieces, combined with our commitment to sustainable production methods. What sets himolla apart is our vertically integrated approach to innovation. Every fitting, mechanism, and detail is developed in-house, allowing us to maintain exceptional quality control while pushing the boundaries of furniture technology. This fusion of traditional craftsmanship with cutting-edge digital innovation enables us to create pieces that are both timeless and forward-thinking.
Where do you see the furniture industry heading? Are there any styles or trends making a comeback, or any designs you think are least likely to return?
The pandemic has fundamentally shifted how people view their living spaces. Today's furniture needs to be multifunctional, sustainable, and personally meaningful. We're seeing a strong trend towards light, airy designs with unexpected colour accents - think soft pinks and lavenders against neutral backgrounds. Our focus remains on creating enduring designs that transcend trends, backed by rigorous testing and environmental consciousness. himolla invites you to experience clarity and playful lightness, gladly sharing the joy of design, quality, and beauty. Plush fabrics, light colours, off-white tones, and striking accents in pink or lavender add a vibrant touch to the imagination. The living room has become a stage for life.
