Knowing what you know now, what advice would you give to your younger self?

Take your time, don’t rush it. In the beginning, we were eager to grow fast and make everything perfect overnight—but real progress takes patience. Good things come from learning along the way, not just hitting big milestones.

We’d also remind ourselves to focus more on the people we’re serving, not just the products. Listening to customers and building something that actually improves their sleep—that's what really matters.

And finally: build a strong team early. You can’t do everything alone. Having the right people beside you makes all the difference.

 

What are you most looking forward to at the show?

We’re really looking forward to connecting face-to-face with customers, retailers, and industry partners. There’s nothing like seeing reactions in real time when people experience the comfort and quality of our beds for themselves.
We’re also excited to showcase our latest collections and get valuable feedback from those who know the industry best. It’s a great opportunity to share what we've been working on, learn from others, and be inspired by the creativity and innovation across the furniture world.
And of course—we can’t wait to meet new people, build fresh relationships, and continue growing the Excel Sleep Beds family!

 

Have there been any highlights for you over the past year that you’d like to mention?

It’s been a big year for us! One of the biggest highlights has been expanding our product range with new designs that customers have really responded to. Seeing our new collections come to life—and then seeing them in homes and stores—has been incredibly rewarding.

We’re also proud of how our team has grown. Bringing in new talent and working together through challenges has made us stronger and more focused than ever.

Another major highlight? Hearing from happy customers. Whether it's a retailer sharing great sales results or someone telling us they’re finally getting a good night’s sleep—those moments remind us why we do what we do.

And now, we’re excited to carry that momentum into the Manchester Furniture Show and beyond!

 

Where do you see the furniture industry heading? Are there any styles or trends making a comeback, or any designs you think are least likely to return?

The focus is shifting toward comfort, sustainability, and lasting quality. Eco-friendly materials and smart design matter more than ever.

Styles like mid-century modern and natural, earthy tones are making a strong comeback. Meanwhile, bulky and overly ornate furniture is fading out—people prefer pieces that are simple, stylish, and practical.

At Excel Sleep Beds, we aim to blend timeless design with comfort and durability.

 

What's next for your company?

We’re focused on expanding our product range with even more innovative, comfortable, and stylish beds. Innovation and quality remain at the heart of everything we do.
