The British Furniture Manufacturers (BFM) is a trade association, which has represented the interests of the nation’s furniture industry since 1947.  We have a rich history that includes a range of well-known members.

Membership is designed to enhance your business and your business interests as part of a collective body supporting your industry. It is open to manufacturing companies in all sectors including upholstery, cabinet, bathroom, kitchen, office furniture, and mattresses and beds.

We also have an Associate membership category for companies that supply the industry, from furniture components to business services.

And a membership category for retailers.  Retailers must stock British-made furniture to be eligible for membership and demonstrate their support for British furniture manufacturers.  Visit our stand to find out more.

Through The Future of Furniture, our industry talks about its work in these two important areas.

Furniture is all around us. It makes our lives more comfortable 24 hours a day, brings style and creativity to our home and creates tidy, orderly spaces.

It supports everything we do to eat, live and sleep, brings back memories, makes us feel excited about the future and appeals across all our senses.

Despite this hugely positive impact, the industry does not get the attention it deserves as a career choice.

We want to address that with The Future of Furniture and Award our members annually at the January Furniture Show.

Furniture Component Expo

Our Furniture Component Expo 2024 will showcase manufacturers of all components, tools and machinery used within the UK furniture manufacturing industry.

The Expo takes place over two days on 24-25 April, 2024 at Telford International Centre in the heart of the country, a purpose-built venue in a city centre.

With over 7,000 furniture manufacturers in the UK, this trade event will provide them with a one stop shop to review and place orders for everything in the supply chain from leading suppliers.

Furniture Component Expo is created by the industry for the industry and all profit generated from the event is reinvested to continue to support the industry through education, lobbying and events.
